About Us
Who is The Lucky Cakesmith, you ask? Well, we are Ashleigh and Brian Smith, a husband-and-wife duo who reside in Clermont, Florida. I, aka wife, is the baker and my husband is the IT support/taste tester extraordinaire. Together, we run the business from our home and look forward to spreading our love of baking with the community.
The idea for starting this business came from a love of baking, one which I shared with my grandmothers growing up. I was extremely blessed to be very close to both grandmothers. My maternal grandmother always allowed me to help in the kitchen, especially when we made Christmas cookies which may have consisted of some finger licking just to make sure they tasted good! My paternal grandmother not only baked the best peach cobbler, but she would always make me feel like I could do anything I wanted if I put my mind to it. Both grandmothers have been the inspiration for this business. Not only do we make amazing goodies, but they are also baked with that good ole love you remember from when you were growing up.
As for the name, this was so much fun to create. Not only is our last name Smith but we were married on St. Patrick's Day in 2018. The tag line was inspired by my grandmothers’. To me, this encompasses both in one saying. The word JOY is not only my paternal grandmother's name, but the feeling and memories I have of them both especially when I am baking.
So, as you can see, we are a family centered company that honors traditional flavors, incorporating our own twist, and simply loves to bake with JOY!
